A retreat is not your typical business meeting, but rather an opportunity to step back, reflect on your vision and desired impact, and invest in the development of your team.
The addition of external facilitation allows everyone on the team to participate fully, and the infusion of facilitation tools and a structured agenda allows for more dynamic, engaging, and creative time together. We’ll utilize a diverse set of activities to create space and opportunities for different learning, communication, and engagement styles to ensure that everyone on the team - from our introverts to our extroverts and from folks who take a beat to engage to folks who jump right in - has a chance to shine and share their insights and perspectives.
Whether you prefer an in-person or virtual approach to your retreat, we can design an approach, agenda, and facilitation tools to meet your team’s needs.
At the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we adapted all of our in-person retreat services and approaches to a virtual environment. We have found that we can accomplish as much team building, strategic planning, and other collaborative work by breaking what would be a one-day or multi-day retreat into a series of mini-retreats on Zoom. We’ve identified and incorporated cutting edge online facilitation tools, and we’ve had success in delivering results to our clients.
We began traveling in 2022 for in-person retreats and are continuing to do so. While we crave in-person time together, we take the health and safety of our team and our clients very seriously. We work with our clients to develop a customized approach to ensure the health and wellbeing of retreat participants, including developing COVID testing requirements and protocols when appropriate.
Carving out time for a multi-day, in-person retreat or multi-session virtual retreat series is a deep investment in and commitment to the success of any team.
To ensure that this time is productive and meets the desired retreat goals, we recommend finding a space off-site or asking participants to log into Zoom from a location where they can be fully present and participatory. We also ask folks to limit their access of other technology (phones, email, social media, etc.) to breaks to support the team in being present with each other.
